Region Information

Tabasco will focus on foundational footwork, choreographical movement, and rhythmic clarity characteristic of the regional dance. Dancers will train in step combinations commonly used across regional repertoire, develop musical awareness, and refine upper-body stylization.

The material and stylistic approach presented reflect training and influence from Maestro Roberto Martínez Rocha, Director of the Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Guanajuato, and Maestro Sergio Bastar of Villahermosa, Tabasco, blending technical structure with authentic regional expression.

Jarocho will focus on regional stylization and zapateado technique characteristic of Veracruz. Dancers will train in foundational steps commonly used across regional repertoire and work through the transition into more advanced footwork sequences, emphasizing clarity, control, and stylistic precision while learning one complete son.

The stylistic approach presented reflects training and influence from Nandy and Leobardo Luna, Miguel Ángel Peña of Ballet Folklórico University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and professional workshop training connected to Ballet Folklórico de México, blending stage discipline with traditional regional expression.
